Ok, in these initial stages, here are some basic rules for characters, and in this thread I'd like you to start asking questions....
For now, 100 pt. characters with 60 in disadvantages and 5 in querks. so maximum total points, 165. Defenately use the Gurps conversion Fallout book, I'd like you to keep a sense of realism, as Im probably going to ban things like the Sniper perk.
---------- On what ~I~ would like from characters.... I want you guys to make outsiders, the general feeling of this campaign and Fallout in general for me has always been exploration. So for his reason lore is gonna kinda be restricted. Basics ill give out, and any specifics ill answer to what I feel is neccesary. Id also like to find out what ~you~ want to play as well.
Thoughts?

Seems reasonable to me, though on that note I'd say that even outsiders may have heard a thing or two about where they are going. So I think we would all appreciate a post with basic information that anyone would know, be it fact or rumor.
I dont think I'm quite ready to make somthing yet until there is more information available.

That works for me. But we still need info on the areas we COULD be from. I mean, we come from somewhere, right? Are we supposed to be from the Capital Wasteland, or the areas provided in FO 1,2,4? If there are other options, Id like to know about them. TLs of these areas would be most helpful as well.

Sounds good and seems you put some thought in to that, I agree, I'd likely like some basics before writing something.

I could be wrong but I don't recall seeing Pipboys in the Fallout GURPS book. Am I wrong? If not, what do they do? How much do they cost? And so on. Can we as players get one?

lol, Soviet crimson? Alright, as far as where you could be from, its more likely youd be from NCR or the Western United states in general. Travelers from as far as the Capital Wasteland are Rare, but the fact that the Wasteland survival guide exists in New Vegas shows that travel between the two is possible. I don't mind if your characters are from anywhere in the United states, though the further away, the more info i'll need on why your in the Seattle Wasteland. There have been NPCs from other parts of the world (mexico and England if I recall) I'm open to any ideas for characters that are foreign to the US, but I'd sure like to know how the hell they managed to get there. Tommarow at work ill try to use paint or something to make a Geographical map with some nations that exist.
